Hello Malacca

Chung Wah Chicken Rice Balls
Chicken Rice Balls

Going through every single photos from our Malacca trip makes me long for the next roadtrip. I will always have plans in mind, it's just matter of time when we can make it happen.

First thing we do when we arrived was to have lunch. So hungry and we're craving for something that's fulfilling like rice. Honestly I don't find anything special about the food here so I don't know what's with the hype of this restaurant, and they're strict—as in no order will be taken, your food will be served according to how many pax you have once you're seated. Since we're already there so we just queue along instead of trying to locate some local chicken rice balls restaurant. (I'm hungry already as I'm writing this)

As you see the sky was quite cloudy, we took the advantage to explore Jonker street on foot. It actually started drizzling when we queue for foods, but it didn't affect us as much since we have an umbrella. Every streets and buildings are one of a kind, some very colorful, some still uses the vintage hand-drawn signboards. It's good to see the efforts they made to restore and maintain this little old town, even back alleys, you will find some murals by surprise too.

A roadtrip isn't complete until we visit at least one cafe.

Satay Celup

Satay Celup for dinner, because it's a must, not because we're craving for anything like that. Joe & I both think we have better satay back home(of course we know it's a lot different from satay celup but we really haven't found any other places that serve the best street satays like our own home).

Malacca River

Chilling by the river at this bar called Reggae On The River. We probably going to check out the restaurant at the opposite side next time.

Like I said our room was really, really spacious. It can accommodate up to 10 person with extra mattresses. The couch itself is a sofa bed too. The hotel located strategically next to one of the cruise jetty, so what we did was hop on the cruise from Jonker street jetty then hop off at the jetty next to our hotel. We paid about 4 or 5 bucks for an Uber from hotel to Jonker street next day in the morning. Finding parking and being stuck in the traffic near Red House is such a pain in the ass, and with this being the main reason..

Us 2

We saw some school kids cycling around the day before so we decided to do it the next day too! Since we're offered a choice of normal bike or tandem bike, of course we'd go for the later one. :o) We're blessed with super sunny weather that day, we almost got a sunburnt. -_- You can actually see shadows in the photos.

Next up - Pantai Klebang! This place is crazy far, you'll have to walk a long stretch of rocky roads(you can walk on the sands too but it very much depends on what shoes you're wearing) to reach to the exact "dessert" everyone is hyping about. We have clear blue sky the entire day, of course we asked for it, what's a beach trip without the big sun right? However, we didn't make it to the exact dessert, can't walk any longer with the weather, and think about walking back to the car, it's the same distance from where you came.

Before we leave, we had nyonya cuisine for dinner, and this marks the end of our perfect roadtrip. I honestly couldn't ask for a better companion! The weather was a tad too hot at times with a bit of rain during the day but since our itinerary was pretty flexi so everything went off without a hitch. Can't wait for next roadtrip!
